Sexism

I really truly believe that I was a victim of sexism.

It happened within seconds, but I feel I was nailed.

I went out to eat with my "equal half". He doesn't like it when I call him my "better half". But anyway, we were leaving the restaurant and the hostess (female) gave me a half smile and a nod that looked like it pained her. When my "equal half" came up a few steps behind me, the hostess did a little perky dance and gave him a big smile with "Have a nice day" added to it. W T F?

No, I don't think this is a feeling of jealousy, because I have no reason to be jealous. I feel it was an act of prejudice.

Does she not have the ability to talk to women? She can only talk to men?

Give me one good reason why that hostess couldn't tell me, "Have a nice day".....

Sexism is such a broad topic in today's world. It no longer focuses on "A woman's place is in the kitchen".
In increase to outright discrimination, sexism will also include attitudes which support a person's discrimination.
The hostess gave a good example. Stereotyping sex roles and generalizing an entire gender. She has a serious problem with women.
Sexism involves hatred of, or a prejudice toward a gender as a whole.

But you know what? I am going to chose my weapons wisely. My weapons will work because they are mighty, "dynamite".
To solve the knotty and difficult problems of my run-in with sexism, the saddle-sores of other's actions, the strongholds (prejudices) that people cling to, I am going to brace myself with:

Truth - truth and love are linked together to provide a mighty shield
Love
Righteousness - right behavior, in line with reality, moral rectitude
Faith-prayer - the shield to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked

I am armed to fight a different dimension from that of my attacker.

"For though we live in the world we are not carrying on a worldly war, for the weapons of our warfare are not worldly but have divine power to destroy strongholds."
2 Corinthians 10:3-4
